Janet Jackson just sold her New York City apartment, and just the views from the kitchen were worth the price.

We’re sorry to say that if you were expecting to buy one of the many celebrity properties that have on the market this year, you just missed out on some great NYC real estate thanks to Janet Jackson. The pop queen sold her cherished Central Park West townhouse at the end of the season for almost four times what she had originally paid for it.

The 34th floor corner condo at 1 Central Park West has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The open floor plan of the condo is bathed in light for the most of the day thanks to floor to ceiling windows. Both the master bedroom and the two smaller bedrooms have lovely views of the Manhattan skyline.
If you prefer the tranquilly of lush nature to the hustle and bustle of a busy cityscape, the views from the kitchen and connecting living and dining rooms may be even more beautiful.

The kitchen likewise has floor-to-ceiling views, with a breakfast bar facing the enormous window, despite being divided from the rest of the house by walls on two sides. White vinyl cabinets and tile floors contrast with black walls and counters in the kitchen, which is very sparingly adorned in keeping with the rest of the home’s design ethos.
The dining room and kitchen are separated by heavy wooden doors, with the dining room’s white walls and light-colored furnishings adding to the contrast. Of course, it is possible to leave the swing doors open to provide even more light into the kitchen. At the actual corner of this apartment, the dining space provides a breathtaking panorama of Central Park.

The house was initially bought by Janet for $2.8 million, and she lived there until at least 2019 as one of her major residences. The pop icon hung onto the property with affection even after moving to London, where her ex-husband and the father of her kid still lived. When she entered her apartment, where she had lived for 25 years, she stated, “I always treasured my home’s wonderful position and the spectacular views that embody the romance and energy of New York.” I felt so calm and at peace as soon as I stepped over its threshold, bringing up so many memories.
In spite of the fact that Janet’s condo was officially taken off the market this fall for $8.995 million, which was actually less than the asking price, if you’re interested in viewing more pictures of the property, you may do so here.
