JIN from BTS makes his first solo entry on the Hot 100 with “The Astronaut”
As the sixth member of BTS to rule Emerging Artists alone, JIN joins J-Hope, Jung Kook, RM, Suga, and V. November 2018 saw RM serve as leader for a week, followed by Suga in December 2021, V in January, Jung Kook in February, and J-Hope in July. Jimin, a fellow member of BTS, reached No. 12 in May. (Suga also appeared on the chart via the moniker Agust D in 2018.)
JIN’s debut solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, “The Astronaut,” debuts at position number 51. He joins J-Hope, Jung Kook, Suga, and V as the fifth member of BTS to have a solo hit on the list. The group as a whole has 26 entries on the chart, with six reaching No. 1 among 10 top 10.
Using the same methodology as the comprehensive Billboard Artist 100, which tracks artist activity across a variety of Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200, and the Social 50, the Emerging Musicians chart ranks the most well-liked up-and-coming artists of the week. The Emerging Artists chart excludes artists who have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard’s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings, as well as acts who have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200. (The Artist 100 lists the most well-known acts on a weekly basis.)
