The Gray Man, a much-anticipated Netflix original, has finally arrived, and fans are already tweeting their reactions to it. The Russo brothers’ ensemble cast, which included Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Rege-Jean Page, Dhanush, and others, generated a lot of hype for the movie.
With its sophisticated action scenes and A-list cast, the espionage thriller tried to replace series like Mission Impossible or The Bourne Identity. The movie’s official summary is as follows: “The Gray Man, an elite ex-CIA agent with a reputation as a fearsome assassin for hire, is played by Ryan Gosling as Court Gentry. Gentry, also known as Sierra Six, is dragged out of a federal prison by his handler Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton) for a clandestine mission abroad. Gentry learns that a rescue squad sent to get him out of a difficult situation in exotic Bangkok with Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has been given instructions to kill him. Now, insane former CIA employee Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) is hunting Sierra Six all over the world and would do everything to bring him to justice.”
The movie was obviously an effort by the OTT juggernaut to start their own espionage series, but based on Twitter responses from fans, things did not go as planned. A sizable portion of online users praised the movie and its impressive ensemble, while many others criticised the overhyped production. The result of the movie looked unfinished to the viewers because of the overabundance of media publicity. Continue reading below to go through some social media fan reviews.
