There was no shortage of red carpet moments to enjoy this week between Paris Fashion Week and the several Hollywood film premieres. The best-dressed celebrities on the step and repeated chose to serve up a different type of splendour with outfits that took chances.

Strong ensembles were required for the front row during the Paris spring shows. There were lots of them. Euphoria actress Alexa Demie wore a flashy red turtleneck dress from Balenciaga, and Demie’s co-star Maude Apatow wore a whimsical balloon dress by Loewe, complete with matching deflated-balloon heels. Erykah Badu rocked a floor-length feathered cape and a sky-high hat—her hallmark piece, of course—at Valentino today. She wore the Italian brand’s distinctive pink colour.
The City of Light was not the only place where the statement appeared. Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Hocus Pocus 2 premiere in New York City wearing a style that would have made Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City proud: a couture jacket from Armani Privé paired with pink harem trousers. Amal Clooney emulated flapper girl elegance for the city’s inaugural Albie Awards for the Clooney Foundation for Justice while wearing a completely beaded, golden Atelier Versace gown.
