Mendes said on Instagram that he “sadly” will have to cancel the whole North American, UK, and European leg of the tour, which was scheduled to begin in June. According to what he stated, “it has become increasingly evident that I need to take the time I’ve never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger after consulting with my team and working with an excellent set of health experts.”

I know you all have been waiting so long to see these gigs, and it aches my heart to tell you this but I promise I’ll be returning as soon as I’ve taken the necessary time to recover, the singer insisted that although he would be taking a hiatus from touring, he will continue to release new songs. “I love you everyone and thank you so much for supporting me and staying with me on this road,” he said before ending.

Wonder, Mendes’ fourth studio album, was released in December 2020. Mendes has been performing since he was 15 years old. Prior to the start of its European leg in May 2023, the singer’s global tour was supposed to begin last month and go through October.
