Kylie Jenner Looked Chic on the Carpet in a Shaggy Hot Pink Dress.

Kylie Jenner, who sat front row at all the main presentations, has taken Paris Fashion Week by storm this season, wearing everything from a plunging Schiaparelli cone-bra gown to a sheer Mugler cutout catsuit. On Sunday, October 2, she appeared at Balenciaga wearing a standout outfit that marked the end of her streak of stunning appearances.

She was dressed in a long-sleeved maxi dress with the appearance of a shaggy carpet and the hottest colour of the season, hot pink. The Balenciaga design stood out from the crowd because to its comfy silhouette and figure-hugging bodice. She accessorised with big, futuristic spectacles with curved white frames and circular black lenses, taking a style inspiration from her sister Kim Kardashian. She added a pair of silver hoops to her ears and pulled her hair back into two curls that framed her face. The outfit was finished off with a big matching cloud clutch and a pair of pointed black boots.

Khloé Kardashian, who also followed Kim’s lead and dressed in an all-black Balenciaga jacket, pantaleggings, dark sunglasses, and an Hourglass bag, came with Jenner. North West, their niece, was also present and looked effortlessly stylish in distressed denim, an oversized jacket, and sandals. Other standout outfits included Barbie Ferreira’s black turtleneck dress, Emily Ratajkowski’s athletic two-piece ensemble, and Alexa Demie’s sparkling red dress.

Kanye West, who opened the Balenciaga runway show in military attire, was followed by models who paraded in a series of primarily tattered, look-alike war-torn clothing, with muddied hems. The 75-look collection, which represented Creative Director Demna’s perspective on the world in light of the Ukraine conflict, rising inequality, an imminent climate crisis, and the assault on women’s rights, was unveiled on a muddy runway.

As Demna stated, “Putting luxury clothes inside the box of polished, exclusive, and aesthetically expensive is restricted and pretty old school.” The staging was intended to challenge the idea of luxury. The runway from last season, which was held in a glass rotunda that resembled a huge snow globe and promoted trash bags as the new shape du jour, was characterised as a companion piece to the event.

Despite its excellent execution and message, some viewers may perceive Demna’s show as praising suffering at such a delicate moment. Even though fashion reflects society, it frequently has the unintended consequence of commoditizing human experiences.
