Jen has been accused of “refusing” to have kids since since her divorce from Brad Pitt in 2005. Her recent admission of having trouble becoming pregnant should serve as a lesson to everyone.
After five years of marriage, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt announced their separation in January 2005, citing “much deliberate contemplation.”
At the time, the couple maintained that their breakup was not the result of “any of the conjecture published by the tabloid media” and that they would still be “dedicated and caring friends with tremendous love and regard for one another.”
Naturally, the central theme of their divorce, which was officially filed in March of that year, was that Jen had “refused” to have a child with Brad because she was so passionately driven and committed to her work, casting him as the betrayed husband and her as the villain.
These beliefs weren’t made any better by the fact that less than a year after his split from Jen, Brad had publicly cemented himself as a devoted parent and family man alongside his new spouse, Angelina Jolie, with whom he would go on to have six children.
In her first interview following their divorce in 2006, Jennifer said she was “very pissed off” that such sexist and intrusive rumours had been treated as fact. Jennifer has consistently refuted claims that she had blatantly refused to have children.
