James Cameron CONFIRMS that Avatar 4 filming has started ahead of the premiere of The Way of Water at D23 Expo 2022.

James Cameron delighted fans with an amazing confirmation at the D23 Expo 2022.

There were several surprises during the D23 Expo 2022 because many Marvel projects were revealed there. Despite taking up most of the spotlight throughout the event, James Cameron’s unique video address threw fans into a frenzy. The Academy Award-winning director delivered a video message to all Avatar fans even though he wasn’t there at the occasion.

With a sneak peak at his upcoming intentions for the storied movie’s sequels, Cameron increased the already high expectations of the audience. The progress of the impending Avatar: The Way of Water sequel was also hinted to by Cameron, who described it as “a bit of an Odessy” but added that “it’s going great.” While everyone is aware that Avatar 2 is still in post-production, the filmmaker indicated that work is also continue on the third instalment of the franchise, even though filming has already started.

Cameron also let the public know that work on Avatar 4 had begun. The screening of 3D previews of the impending sequel was a great treat for the event’s attendees. Cameron stated in a conversation with Variety that regarding the simultaneous filming of multiple sequels, “We combined the timetables for 2 and 3 together, based on the types of scenes and the surroundings.” He went on, “I suggested that we handle it as a six-hour miniseries and assume that Frankfurt will only be visited once.
